Our team here at Meraki Equine Sports Therapy is dedicated to the health and well-being of your equine athlete. We are here to help your horse reach its maximum potential whether you are competing every weekend or simply enjoying the trails. Our paramount goal is to re-balance, restore, and relieve soft tissue restrictions using massage and bodywork techniques. We begin with a posture and gait evaluation, obtain a history of the horse, and discuss goals. Afterwards, a personalized treatment plan for each horse is created, and you receive an emailed report. Bodywork is an excellent compliment chiropractic and veterinary care that can truly set you apart from the competition!
Our horses are athletes and deserve to be treated as such!

Sports Massage & Bodywork
This is a full body maintenance/preventative massage and positional release session suitable for all horses. Our goal is to relieve soreness and release tension holding patterns that may be inhibiting full athletic potential. Amber uses a combination of techniques that include trigger point, acupressure, myofascial release, positional release, and various methods of massage strokes that have been researched to improve the overall biomechanical movement of the horse. Ultimately the goal is to balance your horse's entire body and aid in "homeostasis" - giving your horse the ability to use individual muscles proficiently.
Red Light Therapy
Red light uses specific wavelengths that trigger the mitochondria thus kickstarting the rebuilding and natural healing process of the cell. This low-level light therapy supports the rebuilding of connective tissues, compliments muscle relaxation obtained with massage, promotes circulation and lymphatic drainage and thus aids in reducing pain and inflammation.
Our small red light pad treatment is offered with every massage at no additional cost when it is applicable and appropriate.
Kinesiology Taping
We offer kinesiology taping to our equine athletes to assist in functional movement. KT tape can provide support for sore or weak muscles; it is also useful in reducing inflammation and edema as well as providing sensory input for atrophied muscles. Kinesiology taping is an excellent supportive modality that assists in prolonging the effects of your horses bodywork session.
